Truck Insurance

At Rockhurst Insurance, we understand that every trucking business is different. That’s why we take the time to get to know you and your business, so we can provide the right truck insurance coverage that fits your needs. With flexible coverage options, knowledgeable claims staff, and personalized service, we’re here to help you protect your business on the road.

We offer a range of essential coverages to safeguard your business vehicles and operations.

  • Bodily Injury Liability Coverage: In the event of an accident where you are at fault, this coverage compensates for bodily injury or death to others. Additionally, depending on your policy type, it may also cover legal defense expenses.

  • Property Damage Liability Coverage: If your commercial vehicle causes damage to someone else's property or vehicle accidentally, this coverage ensures protection. Legal defense expenses may also be included depending on your policy.

  • Medical Payments, No-Fault, or Personal Injury Coverage: For any medical expenses arising from injuries to employees or passengers in your vehicle, regardless of fault, this coverage provides payment.

  • Uninsured Motorist Coverage: In case of an accident with an uninsured or hit-and-run driver, this coverage pays for medical expenses or, in some instances, property damage. It may also include coverage for underinsured motorists (when the at-fault driver lacks sufficient insurance to cover the damage).

  • Comprehensive Physical Damage Coverage: This coverage extends to your vehicles or trailers and protects against damages caused by incidents other than collisions. Examples include theft, vandalism, floods, fires, and specific hazards.

  • Collision Coverage: For damages resulting from collisions with other vehicles or single-car accidents, this coverage offers protection for your vehicles or trailers.

By understanding these different coverages, you can make informed decisions when selecting the right trucking insurance for you.

What Trucking Insurance doesn't Cover?

Trucking insurance offers essential financial protection and peace of mind through various scenarios. Nonetheless, there are incidents that fall outside the coverage. Here are some of the exclusions you should be aware of:

  • Intended or Expected Property Damage or Injuries: Any property damage or bodily injuries that result from intentional actions or those you might reasonably anticipate are not covered.

  • Racing: Damage or injuries arising from racing activities are excluded from the coverage.

  • Mobile Equipment Operation: Liabilities associated with the use of mobile equipment, such as forklifts or cranes, are not covered.

  • Injuries Covered Under Workers' Compensation: Injuries that are addressed by a workers' compensation policy are not covered by commercial auto insurance.

  • Hired and Non-Owned Vehicles: Only vehicles explicitly listed on the policy are covered. Temporary rental vehicles can be covered if your listed vehicle is being repaired, serviced, or has suffered a total loss. However, other vehicles that you may rent or use, such as employee-owned or borrowed vehicles, are not covered under this policy. Nonetheless, you have the option to add hired/non-owned coverage to a general liability policy or a business owners policy (BOP) to protect those vehicles.

Please note that this is only a partial list of exclusions, and our insurance experts are available to provide further details and clarification.
